Chris Hessney

Founder and President, Creative Director

Chris’ vision for Hessney & Co., the business he launched in 2015, is built on his strong background in event management and design along with a steadfast belief in building solid client relationships through a personalized approach.

Chris began his career working for restauranteur Stephen Starr and Chef Morimoto. He furthered his career with Andre Balazs and was an integral part of the opening team at The Standard Highline in New York.

Following his successful career with Balazs, Chris was recruited by EMM Group to take on the role of Corporate Style Director where he was instrumental in all creative decision-making and helped define their brand identity.

Most recently with Hessney & Co., Chris has collaborated with a wide variety of well- known companies like Armani, Goop, Netflix, and Martha Stewart Weddings, and was recognized as one of the top wedding florists in the U.S. by Harper’s Bazaar Magazine. Chris’ impeccable eye for design and attention to detail put him in a class by himself, making Hessney & Co. synonymous with excellence on the event planning stage.

Matt Labombard

Director of Operations

Born and raised in the heart of The Berkshires, Matt comes to us after living in Boston, MA and brings with him a diverse background and list of accomplishments.

While his main focus is the day-to-day operations of our business, Matt takes an extremely active role in the creative process and execution of every event. His focus on detail and coordination ensures that our events run flawlessly while his ability to strategically plan and create processes make him an irreplaceable asset to our ever- expanding business.

Driven by his passion for cooking and entertaining, Matt has spent many years in the food, beverage and event planning industries. Matt has also been a regular contributing writer for the nationally published Edible Magazines with his articles and features having appeared in Edible Berkshires, Edible Vineyard, and Edible South Shore. When he’s not at work, he’s exploring new venues and hot spots in Manhattan.

Julia Sarasola

Senior Event Producer

Julia recently joined the Hessney & Co. team as our Senior Event Producer, bringing with her 10 years of experience in editorial art direction/production, practical and theoretical visual styling, and interior and environmental design. She also has a background in literary and live broadcast production. A former experiential producer, Julia excels in creating thoughtful physical spaces for our Client’s brand or vision to breathe and evolve in. In addition to her ability to constantly push past creative boundaries, Julia is extremely detail- oriented; keeping our Client’s projects on time and budget.

In her free time, Julia works as the Co-Founder of Shine On in Schools, a nonprofit that brings movement and mindfulness workshops to New York City public schools. She’s also an alumni spokesperson for the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

Laura Sierra

Junior Event Producer

Laura is a Junior Event Producer who partners with her team to create breath-taking, one-of-a-kind experiences for clients. After working for a multi-purpose creative agency, Kizmet World, Laura moved to Miami to continue her training with Makaira Inc., a full-service production company that produces Art Basel in Miami. Laura moved back to New York City February 2019 to continue her production work with Hessney and co. Through her experience, Laura has developed a keen eye for detail. For each event, she partners with her team to expand event boundaries through innovative concepts and creative thinking. It’s all about how well you connect with the heart-beating people you’re trying to help and communicate your understanding back to them.

Laura holds a BA in business with a minor in communication from Northeastern University. On her time off she likes to paint, cook and explore new venues around the city.
